I really enjoyed this course – friendly and highly knowledgeable tuition, fantastic locations, great light and wonderful food and drink. Recommended! Alun Darbyshire

Our Spain photography courses are based on the idea that photography learning is usually more successful when it’s about something. When shooting something you take an interest in, you take better pictures, and you intensify the whole experience. This is why we have four courses that combine different leisure activities with photography. The activities bring like-minded people together, with similar interests. We also occasionally do some combined courses.

Our courses are open to all levels of photography enthusiasts with all kinds of cameras, from an iPhone to a digital SLR to a 5×4, – and anything in-between! You’ll have two experienced photo instructors at hand, both with many years within commissioned and commercial photography, from both film and digital. Gry is also a retoucher and Photoshop expert. We don’t encourage jargon-speak or pixel counting. We focus on creating strong images, and encouraging some playfulness in compositions. That doesn’t mean we’re not technical – in fact we give you written handouts for each course day, with handy practical tips, summarising the technical aspects. You’ll come away with a small portfolio of edited and optimised images and we therefore include a few hours of Photoshop. At the end of the course you will come away with a goodie bag of a web-ready portfolio, our daily handouts, and a couple of e-books written by Gry.

Nacho will teach you loads about photography from the creative to the more technical aspects. He is a great teacher and most important has a good sense of humour.
Gry is a very warm person and she has a passion for photoshop. She manages to make it easier to understand, even for the more technically challenged like myself.
What a great idea combining photography and photoshop with a holiday in Cadiz, which is fascinating town. And it was sunny!!
I liked it so much I am going on the Carnaval course. Alison Vetters

Every day we take you to different locations in the Cadiz region or in the old City of Cadiz, where we have different activities set up. Some of these places are virtually secret treasures. We have planned our routes according to the position of the sun and tides, and whatever the weather, we take advantage of it. The locations in this part of Andalucia are extremely varied; the clean Atlantic sea and miles of golden beaches with fine sand and dunes, rocks to climb or shoot, a view to Morocco, pine forests, rolling agricultural landscapes with windmills and sunflowers, white villages clambering onto high rocks and hills. At our HQ we have a haven-like roof garden where you can relax, and take in a unique view of the city from above, with a view to the many Cadiz watchtowers jutting up from the white Moorish rooftops. The town also has an impressive defensive wall, “castillos”, and haunting narrow streets lined both sides with 18th and 19th century buildings and “palacios”.

It may be old but Cadiz is no stagnant museum piece. It’s widely known for its warm and humorous people. People love a fiesta and at times it explodes with life and colour, especially during the carnival and during Semana Santa. All generations here love being on the street, and one could be forgiven for thinking that there is always a fiesta going on, at least when the sun is high and the sky is blue. Your tutor Ignacio (Nacho) is local, and has a wide network of  contacts here, so if people-pictures and portraiture is your thing, let us know when you book.

We have four courses to choose from, with a maximum of 6 participants; few enough to give you the best attention, and many enough for you to make new friends. Have a look at our course menus and itineraries. If you prefer more of a mixed course, we can put together a tailored course for minimum 2 people, upwards to 10.

Not only did I learn how to shoot and how to get the most out of my camera, the trips to Trafalgar and other amazing locations will be with me for a very long time. It was the perfect combination of an excellent photography course and a fabulous holiday. Emma Parker
